WHY SHOULD YOU ACCEPT JESUS?
The gospel of Jesus Christ has long been preached. You cannot say that you have not heard of Him before, but something is holding you back from accepting Him. You might have asked the questions; why should I accept Him? Is it money, or health or what is it that accepting Him would give me that I do not have? Is He not like every other prophet in every other religion? What is so special about him? So many questions and likes.
The gospel of Jesus Christ is a means to an end, the end which is eternal life: He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him (John 336). It is not about your body now; it is about your soul. The gospel is not about wealth, neither is it about your material substance: For what shall it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?(Mark 836) the gospel is about life in abundance: ETERNAL LIFE! For the devil cometh not, but to steal, kill and destroy. But I have come to give you life, life ABUNDANTLY. Where is this coming from? From God the father, through His love for man has given us life through His son: For God so love the world that He gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him would not perish but have everlasting LIFE.
As a result of sin, man got out of the intimacy he had with God and the tree to which he would have gained eternal life was far away taken from Him; And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever: Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.(Gen 322) That life which was taken away from man is now being reconsidered. This is a function of the love which God has for us so as not to perish, and it has caused God his only begotten son to save man from eternal perdition. Jesus was sent into this word to die for you and me and whosoever believes in Him would not die, though the body dies on earth, the soul goes and get united with God the father in heaven as opposed to going to eternal doom, suffering and gnashing of teeth. Your soul is very important to God; He doesn’t want your soul to go into doom like the devil and his minions. Jesus gave his life for your life, he died so that you won’t die, and He suffered so that you won’t have any course to suffer.
Why don’t you reconsider your stand today, why don’t you check the foundation of your life, is it rooted in Christ? Listen, we make choices at all times, but at one point, man is bound to make a choice which will change his life for good or for bad. It is important that you make the choice of giving your life to Christ today for your own good, tomorrow might be too late.
